What is Toronto Island Maple Leaf Disc Golf?
The Toronto Island Maple Leaf event debuted in 2008 and is one of Ontario’s longest running disc golf events. Originally founded by Dave Slater, the TIML event may have had different leadership and teams over the years, our goal remains the same – To provide a premier, professional and inclusive disc golf experience on Toronto Island that’s rooted in friendship, fierce competition and uniquely good times.
Why should I attend a Toronto Island Maple Leaf event?
Toronto Island Maple Leaf disc golf events are known for putting the player experience first. We combine a professional disc golf experience focused on promoting high payouts alongside a push to support, promote and grow women’s disc golf.
Hosted on the legendary Toronto Island Disc Golf Course, the history of the event and the magic of the course can be felt by every player who steps foot to challenge themselves at the TIML. Year after year, we see player’s returning to this legacy event in an effort to cement their place in Canadian disc golf history.
What events does Toronto Island Maple Leaf Disc Golf offer?
Toronto Island Maple Leaf now offers 2 different disc golf events in SPRING and SUMMER.
TIML Silver – Your AM only SPRING disc golf event in MAY.
TIML Gold – Your PRO only SUMMER event – as always, on SEPTEMBER long weekend.

How does the TIML SILVER format work?
In order to provide an opportunity for more players to participate in our events, the TIML Silver AMATEUR only event is going to a PDGA C-Tier 2 day, 2 round, shotgun start event capped at 72 players each day!
On SATURDAY, the following divisions will compete – MA1, FA1 + all age protected
On SUNDAY, the following divisions will compete MA2, FA2, MA3, FA3 + junions
The layout? Classic island – Short tee pads to long baskets!
How does the TIML GOLD format work?
The TIML Gold is a PDGA A-Tier 3 day tee time only event capped at 112 players.
The layout? AM’s play Short to Long. PRO’s play Long to Long CHAMPIONSHIP layout.

What kind of facilities / amenities are on site at Toronto Island course?
There are many bathroom facilities located in the park. The closest bathrooms are located by tournament central at hole 1 (by the firehall), and at the end of hole 13 / tee pads for hole 15.
Bathrooms are located by Hole 1, Hole 4, and Hole 15.
Water fountains on the course are located behind hole 10.
If you’re looking for snacks before or after your tournament round, we recommend you take advantage of the amazing resources on and near the island, including the Island Café and the Riviera.
They both boast some wonderful food and even better views from their respective patios.
How can I practise for my upcoming TIML Disc Golf event?
Practice makes perfect. The Toronto Island Club meets on Wednesdays by hole 1 at Ward’s Island. Check out their Facebook page for all the details.
I found a disc during my Toronto Island Maple Leaf round. What should I do?
Please bring any found discs or additional items to tournament central after your round. Team TIML will take it from there.

Is the Toronto Island disc golf course cart?
Yes – This is one of the most cart friendly courses in Toronto! We highly recommend using a cart for your event round as rounds on average take about 4 hours to complete.
